No add-in

Question - I completed the install (and checked to ensure the correct registry entry is there) but see no add-in wihtin SSMS or object explorer. I'm using the following version of SSMS Express - is this supported?

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Complete (expires in 180 days)      10.0.1600.22 ((SQL_PreRelease).080709-1414 )
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools      2007.0100.1600.022 ((SQL_PreRelease).080709-1414 )
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)      6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205)
Microsoft MSXML      3.0 5.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer      7.0.6000.16643
Microsoft .NET Framework      2.0.50727.3053
Operating System      6.0.6000

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately the add-in doesn't work with Express. You can always use the standalone version 1 available at www.sqlinternalsviewer.com

Thanks for the quick reply Danny. When I use the stand alone version the installation works fine however when I try and connect I receive "SQL Internals Viewer has stopped working message from Windows. I'm running VISTA and the earlier mentioned SQL Enterprise version and a SQL Server 2008 Evaluation copy. It's also a named instance so don't know if this is causing a problem.  Any ideas?

Thanks again.

It may be that you're missing the Microsoft Exception Message Box control that SQL Internals Viewer uses that needs to be installed if you don't have SQL Server 2005 installed.

It can be downloaded here -

If that doesn't work please let me know.

Where can I get the standalone Version ? So www.sqlinternalsviewer.com is now internalsviewer.codeplex.com and I can't find it.
