I got the same error message since upgraded my client tools. I downloaded a copy of the source and now working on the updated version. It would be great if the project owner may release a new version for 2012 and 2008 R2 :)

There seem to a number of references to this error with other add-ins following an upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 (e.g. http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=9427), requiring the add-in to be updated. Is this likely to be the case for InternalsViewer?

After installing Internals Viewer, I get the following error when starting SSMS:

"The Add-in 'InternalsViewer.SSMSAddIn.Connect' failed to load or caused an exception.
Would you like to remove this Add-in?
If you choose yet, you will need to reinstall the Add-in to use it again.

Error Message: Class not registered

Error number: 80040154"

Please note that LoadBehavior is already set to 1. Any help appreciated. Tx.

When I run the stand-alone internals viewer on Windows8 I cannot connect to a SQL instance.
I get the message "Sql Internals Viewer has stopped working"

(it runs fine on Windows7)

Hello,

I've installed Internals Viewer 2 Beta 2 20081228 for SQL Server 2008.

It throws this error when SSMS starts up:

The Add-in 'InternalsViewer.SSMSAddIn.Connect' failed to load or caused an exception.

Any ideas how I might fix it?

In UI, when you select an index in GridView (at bottom), it does not select respective pages in allocation map.
The reason is that layer name differs from label clickable.

Here is a fix :

Enum used is the same for pages and indexes. Int values are wrong for indexes.

Created Issue: Cannot view indexes on system tables via object explorer [8333]

When expanding the indexes node on master..spt_values I get the following error message complaining that the database "Tables" does not exist. The stack trace indicates this comes from something InternalsViewer does when the nodes are expanded. I guess it may well be coded to assume that the grandparent node of the table is always the database node?

hello

I have installed the plugin and received error 80070002 when loading. SSMS is asking to disable the plugin. I reviewed the FAQ tried the registry steps and it continues to set the LoadBehavior back to 0 after failed load.

Any ideas?

I got the same issue on my Windows 7 with SQL 2008. But It works fine with 2005.

I run a Process Monitor. But didn't find any clue.

This tools is still supported ?
